Celem pracy była charakterystyka warunków glebowych jednego z największych rezerwatów województwa małopolskiego – Doliny Racławki. Dolina charakteryzuje się zróżnicowanym reliefu, budowy geologicznej oraz pokrywy roślinnej. Teren rezerwatu jest zbudowany ze skał wapiennych rożnego wieku geologicznego.. Próbki do badań zostały pobrane z terenu Doliny Racławki oraz z terenu przyległego kamieniołomu w Dębniku. W celu określenia właściwości gleb, przeprowadzono oznaczenia odczynu, zawartości węglanu wapnia i węgla organicznego, pH, składu granulometrycznego. Ocenie poddano możliwość występowania nieciągłości litologicznej w badanych glebach. Wyniki badanych gleb z terenu doliny wykazały ze mamy do czynienia z rędzinami brunatnymi natomiast z regionu starego kamieniołomu występują rędziny czerwono ziemne (terra rossa). W większości badanych próbek glebowych, mielismi do czynienia z pił ilastym oraz występowaniem nieciągłości fitogenicznej. Odczyn pH wahał się od kwaśnego do obojętnego.
